28th Amendment to the United States Constitution

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, or a Foreign Born Citizen of the United States born after January 1st, 1971 shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States. Furthermore, in the case of Foreign Born Citizens of the United States of America, only those persons who took the oath of citizenship 35 years prior to the time they would be inaugurated to the Presidency and who have had 14 consecutive years of residency in the United States of America will be eligible to the Office of President.
